Shotgun suppressors occupy a unique position within the suppressor market. Tackling the massive muzzle blast of a 12 gauge is difficult and requires a very large can, but when managed it can help preserve the hearing of both the shooter and any hunting dogs nearby, whose ears are far more sensitive than ours.

There are only a few cans on the market, which reduces the risk of decision paralysis, but these options lack much of the effective new technology found in modern centerfire suppressors.
