Best 5.56 Suppressors 2026
How do we consider what is the best 5.56 suppressor? We reviewed hundreds options and mapped them against popular consumer preferences. Our study considered the average largely recreational shooter first. This represents the majority of consumer suppressor buyers. Their largest consideration will of course be overall sound mitigation. Most people consider size, weight, backpressure ect, but to be considered the "best" in 2026 a can has to meet a baseline quality of sound performance. For this reason most small "K" size cans were not considered for this title. That said, we took a holistic minded approach when making our list to find the best blend of sound, size, backpressure, cost, and availability.

Silencer Co. is one of the biggest names in the industry, largely due to their focused product line — thoroughly vetted, tested, and backed by an unmatched warranty reinforced by excellent customer service. That alone makes the Velos an easy recommendation. As for the can itself, consumer feedback consistently points to remarkably low backpressure and competitive sound characteristics. The Inconel construction and high flow rate mean you can run this on almost any host with little to no tuning, confident it won't induce reliability issues or disrupt your fire schedule. It's a true set-it-and-forget-it suppressor. It ships with an ASR mount and muzzle device that are robust and simple to use. The one real weakness is weight — the included ASR mount adds up. If you're weight-conscious or running a longer barrel, consider the 556k variant or a lighter aftermarket mount.

LPM is a mid-sized outfit that pushes the limits of what can be done with traditional welded manufacturing. The Torch differentiates itself by being one of a small handful of reduced backpressure designs manufactured by welding a series of baffles into a stack. The Torch's party trick is shipping with two interchangeable endcaps that change the sound and backpressure relationship. One cap gives you better sound performance with higher backpressure, good for bolt actions. The other gives reduced backpressure at the cost of sound signature, making it an excellent option for semi-automatic hosts.
